A Shamanic Healing Session

As I started to get more interested in Shamanism, I began to feel the need to experience Shamanic healing from a recognised practitioner. So, I asked around for recommendations.

I found a practitioner in Reading, Berkshire, not far from where I was living who was known as The Bearded Shaman  and I booked a healing session for October 4th 2018.

The Bearded Shaman's name was Danny and yes, he did have a magnificent beard! He also struck me as very kind, gentle and sincere. He practised a form of shamanism derived from the Inca tradition of South America although he was not a tribal, indigenous person himself.

The healing session lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes and was quite an experience ( I had no idea what to expect ). We talked about my "issues" for a little while then Danny had me lie down on my back on the floor with my eyes closed while he started to perform the healing. He used a rattle to induce his state of non ordinary reality and he journeyed to the "lower world" on my behalf.

Danny told me that he had removed some blockages from my energy system. He took some snakes out of my neck, chest and shoulders area. He said he had found a large fragment of my soul and he asked me if I would like it back. I told him that I would like it back and he "blew" it back into me.

Before we started the healing I had chosen a stone from his "Mesa" and he had placed it on my solar plexus, where it stayed throughout the energy healing. I was to release all of my unwanted "stuff" into that stone. Danny told me that he felt I had been a slave in a past life, somewhere in the ancient Middle East and that I longed to be free. I had escaped and then been recaptured. My punishment was to be put into a stone "coffin" with some venomous snakes. They had bitten me and killed me. Danny said that this was why I sometimes felt that the only way for me to be free was for me to be dead - I had told him about my suicide attempts in our pre-healing chat.

Danny brought me three gifts back from the lower world. One was a prehistoric man - a hunter or tracker who wore a deer antler headdress and a leather loin cloth and leather boots. The second one was a Jaguar (the cat not the car) who was to be one of my spirit animals. And the third was a hunting knife made from bone.

Danny said these gifts were to be parts of me - they were gifts from spirit and I had to choose where I would like them to be put within my energy system (chakras). I chose the throat chakra for the hunter, the heart chakra for the jaguar and the sacral chakra for the knife. We did a little ritual with these 3 gifts. I discovered that the hunter was to guide me and show me new paths to travel. The jaguar was to protect me and keep me safe. The knife was to cut any ties with my past that were holding me back.

Danny told me to work with the 3 gifts over the next 28 days to cement the energetic changes in me. When the session ended I felt much lighter and more joyful. I feel The Bearded Shaman is a genuine healer and would recommend a visit if you live near Reading.

 Postscript :-

I started the 28 day follow up work and actually made good progress with getting to know the hunter (whom I now know as Mog and I know his "wife" and child) and I purchased a bone knife which I find useful but I couldn't get on with the Jaguar, so we parted company and, sadly, I felt no affinity to the Inca tradition - so, to be fair to Danny, I did not complete my homework.
